Brief

Dental Rehabilitative Oncology is a discipline within dentistry that combines general dentistry, maxillofacial prosthetics, oral medicine, and oral pathology to provide a practical/hands on experience and close training along with the Head and Neck Rehabilitation Team.

Module II – Management of Oral Precancer and Cancer

Role of Preventive Oncologist.
Treatment of Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders.
Laser Treatment for Oral Potentially Malignant Disorder.
Video recording of laser excision surgery.
Surgical management of head and neck cancers.
Reconstruction in head and neck cancers.
Chemotherapy, Targeted Therapy and Immunotherapy to Oral Cancer.
Focus on treatment modalities and oral complications and their expectations from us.
Radiation Therapy to Oral Cancer.
Focus on treatment modalities and oral complications and their expectations from us.
Paediatric Oncology & Haemat-oncology.
Diseases having Oral Manifestations or Oral Complications and their expectations from us.
Introduction to the Rehab Team.
Brief overview on each department.
Tobacco Session Protocol
Management of pain and mucositis.
Role of Speech and Swallow Pathologist in Rehabilitation and their expectations from the dental team.

Introduction to Dental Rehabilitative Oncology.
Importance of Dental Visit before Cancer Treatment.
Oral complications of Cancer Therapy and its Management.
Introduction to Maxillofacial Prosthesis and Material Sciences.
Maxillofacial Prosthesis.
Implants in Free Flaps/ Zygoma/ Pterygoid Plates.
Future of Maxillofacial Rehabilitation.
Photography, documentation and consents for publication.
Challenges faced by the Dentist while treating an Oncology Patient.


Module IV – Hands on workshop - HCG

Eligibility Criteria
